Tatrica - kids clothing prints inspired by Zakopane Style
Styl zakopiański - Zakopane style
Linocut technique - when images are carved in lino and then printed onto paper - was chosen to match the woodwork style typical to the region. Zakopane style - after the name of the mountain spa it originated - was artistically developed in the end of the 19th century by an architect, painter and writer Stanisław Wyspiański in a collaboration with local artisans and craftsmen. For decades to follow it has been continued and can nowadays be still found, mostly in wood decorations and furnishing. The concept for Tatrica collection is my own interpretation of both raw folk motives and papular elements of the Zakopane style.
